I am a skilled Wig Designer and Makeup Artist with training and experience in Theatre and Opera. My work experience includes designing wigs, building wigs and facial hair, fronting existing wigs, wig styling, maintenance and cutting and styling actor's hair. I have designed wigs for over seventy-five productions, from large musicals to smaller, ensemble shows, in a variety of performance venues. For four seasons I served as the resident Wig and Makeup designer for the Barter Theatre (LORT), and am currently the Wig Master/Designer at Actors Theatre of Louisville (LORT). My years of work have given me valuable experience in working with Equity actors in a repertory situation, and have encouraged me to find creative solutions to the challenges of supervising a wig department. I am familiar with the needs of large theatre and performing arts facilities, and have years of experience managing large, multi-show builds, constructing specialty wigs and hair goods, and working with a variety of budgets. These skills, along with my design, construction and styling skills, make me well-qualified for work with your company. In
addition to my work experience, I hold an MFA from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign, and completed an internship with Jim McGough at American
Players Theatre.
